“Sometimes The World” is the second single release of 2024 by Manchester band The Harveys.

It follows hot on the heels of the January single “Danny and Me”, which served as a storming statement of intent by the band for the year ahead.

The Harveys, were known in a previous life as Harveys Rabbit. During this time they had some success on indie label Rotator with their interpretation of Robert Forster’s “Is This What You Call Change?” followed by further singles, an album, Peel session, and much gigging.
Since reforming as The Harveys they have so far recorded and released a number of singles on German Shepherd Records, as well as performing a number of memorable live gigs with the likes of TV Smith, The Monochrome Set, Richard Strange, and The Distractions.

2024 marks a new chapter with releases on Half Edge Records.
“Danny and Me” hit with the force of an instant hammer. “Sometimes The World” holds the same power, with a driving rhythm and an insistent hook that won’t let go; combined with a subject matter that addresses the need to question the media, challenge events in the world, and fight against apathy.

Sometimes it’s about you, sometimes it’s about something more.
There is no time to sit and watch while all around burns.
